Collaboration Announced Between the International Society for Research in Human Milk
and Lactation and the American Society for Nutrition

The International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation (ISRHML) and the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) share common goals of advancing nutrition research and policy and fostering the next generation of scientists interested in human milk and lactation.

Recently, the two groups initiated a partnership to work collaboratively to expand membership in both organizations; promote resources and educational opportunities; and broaden the community of human milk and lactation educators through joint activities.

While each organization will remain independent, volunteer leaders of both societies will serve in ex-officio positions on respective governing committees to ensure cross communication.

Members of both societies can expect to see more joint programming and other professional development opportunities.

ISRHML and ASN’s Maternal, Perinatal and Pediatric Research Interest Section are conducting joint activities at Nutrition 2018, ASN’s annual meeting being held June 9-12, 2018 in Boston.  Activities include a scientific symposium titled “The Science of Breastfeeding”, a networking function and young investigator awards.
