The International Society for Research in Human Milk and Lactation (ISRHML) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of excellence in research and the dissemination of research findings in the field of human milk and lactation. These objectives are met through the following.
1. A biennial international meeting and annual symposia and minisymposia at the Experimental Biology meetings (see www.nutrition.org for information about the American Society for Nutrition and the Experimental Biology meetings)
2. Communication among members established liaisons with government agencies, public health authorities, industry, and other organizations interested in human lactation
Full membership is open to investigators who have a doctoral degree or equivalent experience and at least two publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of human milk or lactation.
Associate Membership is open to individuals with at least a baccalaureate degree or equivalent who specialize in research, education, or clinical practice related to human milk or lactation.
Trainee Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctoral fellows who are participating in research related to human milk/breastfeeding or lactation.
